Normally we do Jaya's flush with 450 mls of tap water and she does VERY well with large results, however on Saturday and Sunday we did not have the results we were used to seeing....she did not have much pain, but we were starting to get a little concerned.
So Monday morning Nick left for IA, has some drivers training, and I had to work, I decided to call into urology and ask what they thought about Jaya's situation. They did not seem to concerned and told me to up her volume to 750 mls at night and to do 250 mls right then to see if it would make a difference and of course we did not get much of anything with the 250. I had to work on Monday night but decided to come home to flush her out, we did the 750mls and just basically poopy water, she was crying in pain and even vomited once, so now I was really in a panic and called the doc on call, she of course told me everything would be okay and to see how she did over night and if she threw up again to then take her into the ER and have a belly xray.
She did great though, she slept through the night and did not have any pain - so this morning I heard from the urology NP and she said we would try some Go Lightly - which is what they normally have adults drink before a colonoscopy and also what they used to clean Jaya out before her surgery. I have heard that it tastes HORRIBLE and thankfully I just had to put in her port and flush her with it, and she did a good job, we used 500 at first but didn't get much so then pushed another 250 pretty fast and that did something!!!
So now she is just relaxing on the couch - being such a good girl! She really does amaze me every day!!!
I will keep you all posted on how she does throughout the week - hopefully it all comes out!!!
