Today I gave my first IM to a baby...and when I say baby I mean he was 12 hours old!!! I actually was supposed to be caring for the mom today, but we had baby in the nursery and so here was my chance, cause he needed his Hep B vaccine!
I have done IM injections on adults but not on little ones, I was so nervous!!! But I got through it, with the support from my teacher. I also was able to see my baby get suctioned...he had so much junk in the back of his throat and his stomach :( But he will be just fine!
Every week I get more and more excited about this new profession, but also scared at the same time!
