Itchy

Last week Jaya kept saying that she was itchy, Nick and I chalked it up to dry skin cause she didn't have a rash or anything, so we just put lotion on it and didn't think too much of it. Well yesterday, chem lab was cancelled and I figured I would get some other homework done, WRONG!!! Mallory called to tell me that Jaya was itching again but this time she DID have spots! So I came home to check it out myself and sure enough she had about 5 on each side, some on her belly, arms and a couple on her neck....I took her to urgent care right away just to have her looked at, and sure enough...Chicken Pox!!! Of course, why would it be just a normal allergy or something simple! So they are pretty sure she got it back when she first started itching which means Neela was around it as well - but thankfully we are all up to date on our shots and Nick and I both had it when we were kids. Jaya on the other hand only got part of her immunization since she had that HUGE rxn to the vaccine earlier this year! So now she probably won't go back to school on Monday and I may even have to cancel her doc appt on Tuesday - we are supposed to go see the pediatric surgeon just as a follow up!
She is acting fine, a low grade fever every now and then - but other than that she is great!
