Nick had gotten back from Newport and we decided we wanted a bigger place so we started looking and there was on Benton st for sale....it looked so crappy and I figured it was just going to be a wreck inside and it was.....but the price was right!
So in August of 2004 we got the house, we didn't move in until the end of Sept cause we had to work on - the Kitchen had to be gutted and so much other work was needed, thankfully we had great people to help, (Travis, Neil, Colin and Grampy) I just remember we were so tired of Pizza King cuase that was all we ate for almost a month, we would be working at the new house and need dinner so I would run up the street and pick up a pizza for us, typically it was me, Nick and Scott!!! The boys would work until about 10pm every night so we could get in the house.
Then finally we got to move in - we went from a 1200 sq ft house to 2100 sq ft so of course we had to buy new stuff - so we were going to the auction every weekend! It was so much fun.....we brought both the girls home for the first time to that house......and as of today it is someone elses!
Yes it's official, today Monsanto is taking over our house in Oxford! We are very happy about it but I am sad at the same time, not like we were going to move home and move back in or anything, but just knowing that someone else is going to be living in our home and making so many changes after all the work we put into it is a little bitter sweet! I will miss the character of that house, the window in the kitchen where Jaya could wave to Nolan and Aiden, the big open spaces of the rooms, the beautiful hardwood floors!!! But we can't go back, and it will be nice to now have to pay two sets of bills!!!!
