We got to preschool and the teacher took attendance than the kids sang some songs while we waited for the bus then we were off! The farm was huge and it was a blast, Jaya and I each got to bring home a pumpkin and gourd! We also got homemade doughtnuts, cider and a hay ride! Jaya had a great time, so I was very excited for her!!!
Also today is Karwa Chauth....for those of you who are very confused right now - this is an Indian holiday, where basically a wife is praying and fasting for her husbands health and safety....I have done this every year since Nick and I have been married, even the year I was pregnant. My mom will fast completely, I will have coffee and crackers, and try to do the best I can! But you don't eat all day then you do a puja (a prayer) and wait till the moon comes out before you can eat, and the first bite of the day is supposed to be from your husband!!! I would get dressed up, put on my wedding lengha and jewlery - it was so nice and this is the first year that I will not be doing all that with my mom in 6 years!!! Now I am going to have a little pity party....but I get to the point where I really am okay being away from everyone and then I hit a day where I just can't stand it! I know everyone will be getting together tonight for this celebration and I don't know anyone up here who would do this so I am flying solo! Not to mention I have to work until 10:30pm!!! Just hard sometimes.....not that it's horrible by any means, but with all the holidays coming up I just get very sad!!! So mom and Kait if you are reading this I hope you both have a wonderful night and I wish I could be there with you both!!!
