Last week Jaya had her cath removed and we thought we would just cath her every night, but again it was not in the cards. We have been having a hard time getting the cath in at night and actually drawing back just a little blood, doc said that would be normal, but it still concerned me so I called the RN and talked with her about it. It took her a while to get back to me yesterday but she said we have to put the cath in and leave it there, so last night after we cathed her we taped the cath to her belly and wrapped her with ace wrap! It will stay like this for a week and then hopefully we have these plugs we are supposed to use. Basically that means she would always have something in her belly - it would be a plug type thing during the day and then her cath when its time to flush, then back to the plug!
I should have known things don't run that smooth in our house...oh well she is doing well and not complaining of major pain so we are very lucky!
