On Friday morning Nick and headed out to see Uncle Mike...we went through chicago to Portage and it took us about 3.5 hours to get there, not too bad considering we got stuck in traffic, but then we got into Portage and our car started to make funny noises. Well we got up to see Mike and then Melissa took Nick to drop the car off to see if someone could tell us what was going on with it, and low and behold it would be something MAJOR - we needed a rebuild on our transmission! REALLY???? So now we were in IN, with our kids still in Janesville and now knowing how to make it home! We eventually rented a car and boy is it classy - a Hyndai Accent...no power anything! But I can't complain to much cause it did get us home.
Then Jaya was up coughing a lot last night so I took her to urgent care this afternoon and come to find out we both have sinus infections....hers a worse than mine so she was given an antibiotic but I am just taking OTC stuff! Man when it rains it pours.....so today we are just spending time together and relaxing, texting with the girls and keeping up to date on Uncle Mike! It's always times like this when we wish we were closer to family!
