Smokin fun.....

Nick got a Smoker at Christmas and we have never used it, but this weekend it was time...and it was great!
When we moved here we realized there was a phesant farm right down the road from us, we had sent some to Nicks dad for fathers day last year but we had not tried any. So this weekend Scott, Lauren and the kids were up to visit and we decided this would be the time, and why not sure the smoker too.....so these first two pics are with the phesants on Saturday.




So it was a huge success and since everyone loved it we decided to do ribs in the smoker on Sunday! YUMMY - and I am not really a rib person -but boy they were great!




We ate so much food this weekend, but it was fun, good company, good food, what more can you ask for!
So we ended our meal on Sunday - July 4th with a patriotic jello cake that I made on Saturday....I made most of it early in the day, got the cake baked and the whipped cream on it, however I still had to cut the strawberries and put those on. The problem was I had too many margaritas when I decided it was time to do this, so this is how you should NOT decorate a cake...I know it's funny - so don't laugh too hard! But it was delicious!!!
